this is the first year ever in his career where he didnt have a anything on billboard lol and vultures as a single didnt do that well

Vultures was the only thing officially released and eligible for billboard and it had a weird ass release, his most ''irrelevant'' period was the JIK period

He caused a mass s***storm simply by posting pics of his girl on IG so idk about that, as a cultural figure he'll always generate something, there's not enough sample size to conclude his position

Sure, but an artist like Drake can tour every single year without dropping another project and it would sell out every time.

The point we’re making is that Carti IS big, he’s just not as big as the guys y’all are claiming he’s bigger than

This whole conversation kinda crazy to me cause I thought niggas on this site vehemently agreed artists who haven’t dropped in 3+ years can’t be spoken about in current top dawg conversations

    Do you like lemonade?

I like natural lemonade like the flavor of it, but I hate how it always has the stuff like floating in it

I don't like stuff in my drinks

not a fan of OJ with pulp?

This isn’t true whatsoever. He just had his biggest streaming year on Spotify ever and that’s without dropping an album for the past two years

It’s mostly Drake stans that say that and I don’t think there’s much overlap between Drake stans and Carti stans on this site

there is plenty showing he rose in the ranks commercially, FEIN was a hit cause of carti song of the summer, he dropped a song on youtube and it hit 20 million with barely any promotion, hes promoting an album on IG stories and its the most anticipated biggest thing in music right now. 200k+? Its very possible, considering what utopia sold, but if not thats fine because hes still the biggest guy rn

im sorry but Fein would’ve been big with or without Carti, Travis could’ve plugged in Yeat on that same song and it would’ve gone. i’ll give you the youtube stuff cause he is making noise with these videos but most anticipated thing in music is a stretch, that’s mere opinion. if he doesn’t outsell Baby’s, Gunna’s, s*** even Rod Wave’s first weeks, i dont see how he can be considered the biggest anything (btw his music still goes, im an avid listener of WLR, just tryna keep it real)

ask far as drake kinda fell out im not liking any of the songs on carti rollout.

this thing about wlr isnt true by the way. I see it even more irl, im in uni rn and not even in an american city people literally play carti and walk up like "u heard that new carti" i havent met a single person in my age group who doesnt know who he is or whats happening. Respectfully, it sounds like someone whos not outside telling others what happens outside. Unless your like an older guy in which case yeah obviouslt you dont hear about carti lol

okay your take makes a thousand times more sense since ur at a university, i understand now

i mean yeah, if your above university level age its way harder to have a grasp on whats going on at the moment, if your above 23 obviously your way less likely to have any realistic view of where the culture is at. My perspective makes it easier for me to observe these things yeah, dont nobody care if a new artist got a lock on the 30 year old market we talking carti bro

    this isn’t true

of course there's still artists who are bigger than others but we're definitely moving in that direction. soon we have only bubbles

  • Free YoungBoy

Drake hasn’t really been at the top or been that nigga for a while tbh. He’ll always have the numbers and the “normies” for lack of a better term but Carti been a better and more exciting artists than him for years atp.

Drake don’t move anything. Just follows trends and does his own generic version of it but he puts it on to the normies/mainstream. IDGAF is a perfect example of this

Drake has da ability to make everybody sing his songs word 4 word what r u talkin about ??

  • VIRGILSINTHAGROUND

Compare Tyler’s run since 2017 vs Drake . Then you’ll see who the goat is

Tyler trash hasn’t been good since Cherry Bomb, that’s 2015

Carti last 4 songs is him spoofing other people struggle rappin and it sounds horrible, but his popularity won’t allow people to admit it

Majority of the time he’s just mimicking another rapper

  • Jan 4, 2024

carti will never see traditional mainstream success

eh, it depends. not as hard to grasp as you may think im not far removed from being at a university myself, WLR dropped right after i graduated but i was in school for Die Lit & the self titled. im sure he got the youth goin crazy but that doesn’t always translate to commercial success and if you don’t have that, its hard to be labeled the biggest. he’s most certainly influential and has his own lane. i think ktt be rushing to crown someone king that hasn’t reached their full potential yet
