More artist should do in store to be honest. Yea physicals don’t sell but I can bet if drake does to Toronto on Friday, LA Sunday, NY Tuesday and Atlanta Wednesday he can sell a lot of physical albums

Hm yeah I wonder what the logistics of that would be like to avoid leaks.. I wonder if it's possible to not start physical production of albums until the Friday of release but still get it into retail stores first week.. seems like an awfully quick turnaround time to me

there's no way he'll just drop with no lead-in whatsoever, especially as the clock strikes midnight on New Year's with countless potential listeners distracted by other things
best you're getting at midnight tomorrow is a new single, possibly with a confirmation of the album release date
