Drakes last single he promoted was Search and destroy...
that debuted with 236 points and was seen as a flop at the time
this is gonna debut with 135 points
the boy is finished
Song is getting less streams per day already than a certain LA rapper got on the 5th most popular song on his latest album a MONTH after it came out
I’m happy you’re happy
Also I never heard search and destroy, put me on
The worst decision Kendrick fans ever made was trying to join the charts debate. It’s a losing battle, but it’s fun to watch them squirm with narratives and theories because they can’t stand seeing Drake on the throne since 2009.
The truth is always in between the diehard fans’ perspective.
No, Kendrick didn’t enter the Drake battle because of the purity of rap and a moral obligation that was weighing on him.
And no Kendrick is not a lunatic who sits in a basement obsessed with Drake 24/7.
This was just a very opportune situation where Drake decided to raise the ante after years of competitive sublims back and forth and his decades long competitor, who has no love for him, seized on it and matched it and then went all in.

Chart debates are the worst thing to ever happen in rap.
Lemme start this by saying:
I LIKE THE SONG. I THINK “WHAT DID I MISS” IS A GREAT AND SUPER CATCHY SINGLE. THIS IS NOT HATE. THE COMMERCIAL PERFORMANCE OF THE SONG HAS NO BEARINGS ON MY OPINION OF ITS QUALITY.
But the commercial performance for this track (so far) is very odd to say the least. Yeah it wasn’t promoted a ton and you can make the caveat that it missed a day of tracking, but 134 points for a new Drake single (that’s being touted as the lead single to a new album) is very strange.
I’m not saying he’s done or anything crazy like that, but if this is a sign of what the commercial performance of Iceman will be, it’s not looking good
Dropping a single at midnight on the 4th did it no favors.
Also, outside of stans, hoopers and clubbers, a lot of people arent running this back because they’re not pulled by the topics he’s covering. The hooks and horns are catchy, but it’s not a female-friendly track.
I think he’ll be fine if he does a traditional Friday release and the song isn’t alluding to the beef.

Damn I just realized I posted that post in the wrong thread, meant to post that in the sales thread
But I agree with you though

You're a smart guy. Obviously, as a Drake hater, you're gonna be scared of debates about sales, popularity, and success in rap. It's safer to stick to your shallow opinions—you can actually control those.
