It’s a bit more than that.
I worked with artists that need to bend their voice to sound a certain way they think they should on tracks, or artists that take a lot of effort to sound good.
What’s made Drake, Drake, over so many years is not just his pen and lyricsism, but at its core - his god given voice as an MC. It’s why he’s the greatest MC in this century. So when he’s twisting his voice to whisper or change it with autotune, he’s almost disrespecting the integral gift god gave him.
