We know weeknd and Drake been having beef for years about weeknd not signing to OVO and taking off with his own career.
And we know Rocky only came into the ring after Drake dissed Rihanna (unprompted mind you) on FATD "i'm so anti." after crying about her on CLB.

UMG wanting to devalue Drake doesn’t make much sense considering the fact they are in the business to make money and he’s their biggest money maker.
Now they might not want to budge on a certain number they came into negotiations with or concede to whatever number Drake’s team felt entitled too.. but sabotaging him because they didn’t wanna match 100 mil more is a reach.

What I believe happened was.. UMG saw the money they were going to make during this whole “civil war” of a beef and then saw how much more money they could make depending on whoever wins and said f*** it let them kill each other. And now niggas is mad because that favoritism went out the window
