I seriously dislike how predictable, redundant & lethargic his melodic phrasings can be. At their best, when they're in concert with the production's grove & contain an intentional emotional reflection of the song's lyrics/narrative, they're hypnotic and comforting. At their worst (most of the time), they're sleep-inducing/mind-numbingly boring. Then the autotune adds insult to injury.

exactly how i feel. you got some 'heat of the moment' tier s*** every now and again but then lazy latter day drake comes back for a bit. it's annoying

Slap the city, and gen 5 are two of my favorite Drake songs oat now.

I really dislike Maid but I love HNM - there's two to 4 songs I like off of it tho

My main gripe is that I hate the constant drastic switch ups he does on Maid - which is a theme on all 3 which is kinda annoying in general, but it's egregious on Maid imo

I do respect and I feel like I SHOULD like it, I mean I love dance music of almost all sub genres and I know exactly what he's shooting for on Maid, I even work in the Dance scene myself rn with production and my own music - but it didnt hit with me outside of a handful of tracks

Imo Habibti is amazing, Iceman is ok with some dope highlights, Maid is bad with some gems

I don't hate any of them tho like how I hate dogs and dgaf about CLB n Her Loss lmao

not sure if I like Habibti or Maid of Honor more, but they benefit from their short lengths vs Iceman being more of a sprawl
