If he puts out a pure rap album for instance it won’t go as far, it won’t be as successful, and eventually his star would dim and y’all would say hell off
Doesn’t have to be a “pure” rap album, it’s still Drake. But he doesn’t have to chase sounds or styles that are trendy either for the sake of connecting to a younger demo and covering all bases. Imo he’s at the top where he has the cache to do what he wants on an album creatively.
But okay I get what your perspective, Drake could be in a position where can’t pivot away from the formula. Or at-least he feels that way. But sticking to that formula for success will bring in critiques like what we have heard since he dropped.
