They still cannot explain exactly how UMG “got involved” with Not Like Us

It sounds like we will find out, I’m not sure if they did or did not.

At this point there is no information that suggests it did but again that could change. Just like it could change for any song released through UMG during the beef.

Both artists said horrendous things about eachother, if you hold the opinion of what Kendrick said was too far I assume you would also hold the opinion that what drake said also crossed the line, meaning that Kendrick can sue for the same things drake did.

There begins the slippery slope of censorship especially with two artists that willingly engaged in a rap beef.

I hate how this legal s*** is even being discussed in the vicinity of a hip hop beef, unprecedented

Not really no. I’m also black.

However if you see a video of one K-Pop group being racist and then start casually saying the entire genre is racist, that’s similar to conservatives who just casually imply the entire genre of Hip-Hop is criminals and thugs.

this is a thing in Asia and the music industry that I’m sure is well known by now, where black culture is appropriated but without black people. of course it is ignorant to judge everyone, but then we can’t ever have a discussions about the reality we can clearly see is happening that these young artists ignorantly let out as a joke

Because they are reacting as if either side is winning when it’s just regular court technicalities

Facts. Everything UMG has done so far is standard procedure in a big lawsuit

Now if their motion to dismiss gets denied, that means Drake has at least a prima facie case in the court's view. That's the first actual W worth celebrating

Right, I agree that’s a completely separate discussion though.

I’m talking about how ridiculous it is that fader accused him of liking a bunch of racist K-Pop artists and he enjoys their racism just because he simply likes K-Pop. Couldn’t even name any of the K-Pop artists that user likes

Midzy has made slick comments in here before with the sole intention of antagonizing black users. Always s***ting on rap artists despite not even listening to the genre.

Yep it’s hard to agree with especially with two willing participants.. I don’t know what the resolution of this will end up being but I am pretty confident this won’t be contained to just rap beef moving forward.

I have ZERO issues with Kendrick suing Drake or even UMG. That's his right and he can exercise it however he sees fit. That's not the issue here. The problem isn't that Kendrick simply called Drake a pedophile. It's that Drake feels like UMG went the extra length to massive push and promote a song calling him that, leaving no stone unturned in ensuring that song went as far as possible.

I'm not worried about censorship because rap is still the biggest genre in the US. It makes UMG way too much money for them to ever truly move away from rap. That won't be happening.

Let's all just wait and see how this s*** plays out.

I feel the Grammy awarding system is way off and completely out of touch.

    — KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 24, 2016

Everybody with any form of taste knows that was the best video of the year!

    — KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 24, 2016

Has anyone at the Grammys ever heard March Madness??? Yes I have a problem with the Grammys.

    — KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 24, 2016

All artists have a problem with it and I am going to fix it for us all starting right now.

    — KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 24, 2016

Neil please reach out as soon as possible so we can make the Grammys culturally relevant again.

First order of business. We the people need to see Future at the Grammys.

    — KANYE WEST (@kanyewest) February 24, 2016

We need to see Young Thug at the Grammys. Not just me and Jay in a suit.
