his label threatened to pull their music over a policy that would allow artists discographies to get removed over allegations and real life pasts, which INCLUDED X and R Kelly. They used r Kelly as an extreme example to get people like you to fall for bait
His label, tde, EXPLICITLY said it was because they felt the policy would unfairly target bad black creators and was a bad precedent. That’s why. And I think everyone agrees in general that’s not a good policy and it’s good Spotify didn’t integrate it. You act like he defended r Kelly that’s not the case

kendrick was 100% in the right when it came to the spotify thing, and you don't have to think R. kelly is a good or redeemable person to see that. streaming services cannot play moral authority on who gets pushed by their algorithms, and they were never gonna apply those standards equally across all genres.
