ICEMAN40Yeah that whole “I’m doing this for smaller artists” could have MULTIPLE meanings. Probably some that most users on here never considered.
Case law/court opinion is never static. It’s ever changing depending on different factors. Depending on what may stick with this case, that could help small artists moving forward in negotiations with labels, battles with fraudulent activities used to devalue their brand, etc. it can also help with strategy of approach depending on how this case plays out.

I mean precedent is precedent but we're living in a time of constant change and things are definitely not static these days and Supreme Court justices even encouraging other judges to not be held back by precedent (ie roe v wade Clarence Thomas comments etc). This would help smaller artists structure better deals if UMG ACTUALLY has to show anything related to financial machinations and respective artists' contractual deal making and actions related thereto. I'm not naive enough to say that the number one person that it helps the most is drake tho and he knows that lol

Oh of course. I definitely don’t want to deflect from that. We all know this is going to benefit drake more than anyone else involved (depending on outcome).
