He addressed it on The Heart Part 6 and they said he was doing too much. They said if he was truly innocent, he should sue for defamation. He sues for defamation and they call him a p**** who is just upset that he lost the battle. Notice a pattern?

1. Release a statement that while this back and forth was for fun it’s now gone into territory of being something that involves harming kids and I don’t want to continue to engage.
2. I will also say, If Kendrick believes that his allegations are true then I invite the Canadian police to do a full investigation with total transparency.
He would’ve lost the battle and dealt with online jokes but niggas would be saying, it’s because he didn’t want to engage pass the allegation.

LeftsideIt's about this but going into contact negotiations with Drake, while funding the "defamatory" smear campaign. Whether people think he brought this upon himself is another issue entirely. If some of the things are true that UMG is being accused of is a valid reason to start litigation

honestly i think after NLU if he just kept quiet for around a year, and put out a really strong comeback album he would've been fine.

And that's fair. It's rap, people can say whatever. Drake isn't suing Kendrick because he isn't trying to censor Kendrick. He's suing UMG for going out of their way to weaponize NLU to inflict as much damage on Drake as possible so he'd lose all his leverage when the time for him to renegotiate. Drake is also suing because that song made things move from just being about beef. His left was threatened multiple times because weirdo Kendrick fans tried to attack him, believing they were carrying out justice in Kendrick's name.

One of the accusations is that UMG and Kendrick had a short deal in place and UMG proceeded to show their worth by backing Kendrick in hopes of a long term deal with him. I'm only speculating on if any of that is true
