EverestI said this in the severance thread but I’ve always loved a weekly watch
And especially when it’s a show that invites fan theories, breakdowns, Easter eggs, references etc.
Every single plot reveal in severance invites a hundred fan theories. So much really fun really creative and smart speculation to engage with each week as you soak in the episode and are shown the story a bit at a time. The watching + taking in + reading fan chatter etc is all so much fun as a package.
Shows that are written cleverly enough to spur all that stuff are also super rare.
And for that reason, I love the once a week thing. If you let it stock up you don’t get to experience the theories and speculation and plot twists and cliff hangers and amazing moments with everyone in real time, and to me that stuff is a supplemental amazing part of shows
Just my pitch to you
You're so right. Some shows are exciting on that weekly schedule. Succession comes to mind. Even though I didn't love The Penguin, j could see what it did in terms of the weekly discussion
