I don't think Drake or Kendrick intended for Euphoria or Family matters to be an actual 'hit'

Euphoria just happened to take off, but Kendrick is not doing all that damn rapping for it to be a hit.

Again, these are hit makers. Not Like Us and Push Ups are the records that they were trying to land the plane on as far as hits. Kendrick did that.

Okay so why didn’t Push Ups have a MV and clean version?

So you think that DRAKE… an artist who is basically given a blank check from UMG to do and release whatever he pleases… was told and/or forced by UMG to make a music video for Family Matters as well as release a clean version simultaneously with the explicit…

That’s something you believe happened on this planet?

Critical thinking went out the window shortly after this thing started lmao

he himself thought it was over. "i going on vacation". "ya dead". but they convince themselves it was all "part of the plan". i just sit back and laugh now.

    You aren't hearing me.

    1) You don't know the context behind the clean version, so to automatically assume clean version = hit is idiotic

    2) Making a music video does not mean he's trying to make a hit. He did a music video for 5am in Toronto.

    3) Drake can want a clean version out there without thinking that the song is or should be a hit. It happens ALL THE TIME with every rapper

I can't make it any more clear lmao

  • Aug 23, 2025

It’s literally on record that UMG isn’t even aware when Drake is releasing anymore, they find out the day it’s uploaded

The only reason clean versions of songs exist is that so they can be played on the radio. There is virtually no other reason to release a clean version of a song. Hope this helps!

I can't even imagine what he must've felt when that "Dear Adonis" line dropped

I dunno, but my guess would be that the release of Push Ups was botched and Drake discards a lot of records once they've leaked and are out there.

Nigga literally released gigs of unreleased content including songs on a random ass website, to Drakes credit i don’t think Kendrick can even do that (untitled is not the same before someone brings it up )

    Are you stupid?

Just because you have a clean version so that it can play on the radio does not mean you made the record for it to be a hit?

I don't 'even wanna do the whole worked in the actual music business thing but you sound crazy lol

    BOTH

Drake has had Hits and deep cuts spin on the radio.

That is why you have a clean version of the song, or songs.

    That.does.not.mean.the song.was.made.with the intention.of it being a hit.

    HOPE THAT HELPS!

The only reason clean versions of songs exist is so they can legally be played on radio stations.

Family Matters was released with a clean version because Drake and his team thought it would get spun on radio.

    Hope this helps!

If I make a clean version of a song, that does not mean I made the song with the intention of it BEING A HIT RECORD.

I can't help you if you don't understand this simple logic.

Drake didn't make charged up for it to play on radio, but just in case they want to play it, there's a clean version for the people.

That's different than say Back to Back, which was obviously made for the radio and mass consumption.

I can't help you if you don't understand this.
