i'm of the belief Drake has experimented since he came in this game. him and his team just carved out such a signature sound for himself that makes us say "oh...he made THIS track again"

let's not forget the man remixed SBTRKT and Peter Bjorn and John songs lol. now he just has his formula figured out

Good point.

Because when you think about it, instead of hopping on that song, it just ends up being sampled. Which is how you get s*** like the intro to Free Smoke or Do Not Disturb. I mean, Snoh was not popular at the time and he turned a classic song into an even more classic song.

No such thing. If we followed that logic, a lot of music would not be created. People have to draw from the past to move forward. And sometimes people can do something as much or more justice than the source material.

Yeah and it also has to be palatable. Drake can’t really use that indie aesthetic anymore because his star has risen too high.

Nah I still have utmost confidence he's gonna deliver the classic weve been expecting. This just one of the songs he's made over the last 3 years that probably wont make it out in this form.

If he was excited about it he woulda rapped/sang along like deep pockets or landed in the ig lives
