i think you see a lot of drake in his production choices in general aside from just the drum patterns

Mink has explicitly said Drake and Dean blunt are his biggest influences but specifically so far gone era’s atmosphere
    Which makes sense

He has this vocal pattern that a lot of Afghan singers have where it’s higher and nasally and it’s really cool seeing it infused with British linguistics on cloud rap s***

    It’s really cool

Dude is this amalgamation of the metropolitan urbanism of London and it’s really cool seeing an artifact of this digital/post-colonial world bring some crazy s*** into the light

    Am I making sense?

It seems like it’s all just tribute acts now with not much difference

ofc but they brought their own swag to it, it was more original than inspo if you get what i’m saying

most of these new guys are carbon copies of bladee or black kray or carti or whoever else

i’ll give credit to fakemink, he has something unique to him with the way he flows on the tracks but at the same time it feels like it’s just a rehash of older s*** as nostalgia bait, he heavily pulls from SFG-era Drake for example

everything feels like Y2K older brother indie sleaze american apparel bushwick nyc nostalgia bait or knockoffs of OPIUM or Goth Money Records or SBE/DrainGang

i haven’t seen anything yet that’s really blown me away like SGP did when I first really started getting into his music for example because I never heard anything like that before

I don’t get why that pluggnb wave was so highly fellated because it wasn’t that different from the original wave from the early-mid 2010s, it just caught on with younger zoomers

Yep just another reason to hate Drake pushing these acts on the youth
    I truly hope he dies

The way he pulls from SFG era Drake is so like not heavy that nobody I’ve talked to noticed it till I pointed out how he explicitly said it he def has his own swag to everything he’s approaching. That’s why he’s the only semi cloud rap artist to pop in 10 years because he’s not rly rehashing at all he doing his completely own style

I’d say the same about xaviersobased, Len, YT, Jim, doechii, 454 all the 2024-2025 wave specifically.

Ur prolly just more familiar with the influences now so you notice it more
