If this s*** so easy in streaming era i wonder why Drake only one puttin #s like this up consistently...
No speculation. It's actually true you idiot
Whats true is in OP? Why do you think your opinion is true? How do you know? Why do you think you know what would happen?
If this s*** so easy in streaming era i wonder why Drake only one puttin #s like this up consistently...
i know such a weird phenomenon ...
streaming so easy man, whats up with all these other rappers struggling
Like I can just turn this around and say “well what if Drake was around in the physicals era?” (which by the way, he was lmao)
But I wouldn’t say that bc I don’t know and all I can do is speculate
man streaming is so easy man, every rapper is absolutely rinsing this new form of selling music s***s bullshit bring back physical era

count how many of your favourite rappers on this list of top-streamed artists btw

They objectively are tho?
Why wouldn’t they? Because you say so?
They are, but the number of streams that equals one sale is a completely arbitrary and made up figure. It’s definitely not the same as an actual album sale.
Big ups to Drake for sure because it’s definitely a huge milestone, but I also get how people are beginning to think that the streaming system needs to be tweaked somehow because it’s an endless stream (no pun intended) of never-ending sales that’s gonna look silly in like 20-30 years time
He’s just a product of our current fast food, algorithm driven music landscape. some other overexposed pop artist will break this fake ass record
cope

Double Points

and hilariously on that list
bad bunny, weeknd, ed, ariana, justin aren't putting up units in the US anywhere near like Drake is
Post Malone's career as a superstar lasted what? 3 years? Lmao
It’s silly to belittle and/or diminish Drake’s dominance in the streaming era because he’s miles ahead of every other rapper and he also was putting up huge numbers prior to streaming.
But at the same time, it’s foolish to prop up streaming stats and figures and try to compare them to artists that didn’t make music in this era and act like the numbers are of equal standing
Music always should've been weighed on how many people actively throwing it on, f*** a radio and f*** a purchase.
This would’ve been impossible to track prior to the internet

Who said that

People do the same s*** but in reverse w/ album sales, talking about how these "newer" artists aren't popular because they don't sell as many albums as some random artist from the 90s
since album units favor physicals
single units favor streaming

Album sales are lower nowadays partly because of streaming though

Well drake was around in the CD era too and was just as successful so idk what to tell you
Like you guys know Drake didn’t debut in 2018 right?
He comes from the era where you bought or pirated music and he was still incredibly successful back then
Album sales are lower nowadays partly because of streaming though
yea thats what im saying, the album units algorithm doesn't favor streaming as much as the single unit algorithm
and hilariously on that list

Post Malone's career as a superstar lasted what? 3 years? Lmao
thats just spotify to, if Apple Music numbers were public (where drake does his most streaming numbers), it would be absolutely tragic

Exactly, which is why I said it’s silly to act like he’s one of the artists who is only selling well because of streaming.
But at the same time, all of these records and accolades and Diamond songs he’s acquiring have all been post-streaming, so he’s definitely benefited heavily from it
