i think it's more that with streaming it's easier to get certified units since a stream of One Dance counts towards both single sales + album sales at once
fairly sure One Dance + Too Good + Hotline Bling alone probably count for at least 50m certified units just them 3
It says that certifications didn’t come around till the 80’s or 90’s

e tNot exactly. I love HN. Been bumping multiple times daily since release. I don’t care what Drake or any artists sells when it comes to my enjoyment of the music.
But Drake Stans constantly set some arbitrary sales thresholds and clown anyone that enjoys albums that don’t reach them.
This is a taste of their own medicine.
Youre right tbh its mostly our own fault but people been wanting drake to flop and be done for years now. Its been happening since More Life

Not really, the only case when numbers came into the discussion is with Weeknd and Kendrick.
With Weeknd during AH era, their stans claimed he was bigger than Drake. When those bundles inflated his numbers but they didn’t listen. The numbers for Dawn FM proved that point.
With Kendrick the same thing, during DAMN era they were boasting Kendrick was bigger than Drake. Same result with his latest album.
It’s their fault for wanting Drake to fall off so bad but it came back to bite them. History will repeat itself again when Scary Hours 3 drops, mark my words.

There’s always a few bad apples in every fanbase, the key is not to let them cloud their judgement of that artist. The weirdest thing to me is letting stans effect how they view artist.

Nah. Maybe some of the kids/trolls on here who unironically say s*** about Weeknd being better than MJ were saying s*** like that, but as a whole we were just excited for Abel to finally see massive commercial success and we were vocal about it. A lot of y’all took that personally and showed your asses in January.
