Theory: Hyper Masculinity imposed on straight black men within hip-hop culture contributing to the hate for this album and Drake in general
Reach or nah
Listened to JBP earlier and I feel like they were alluding to this to a degree. Maybe not on that deep of a dive, but they said that the low frequency s*** that we’ve been listening to for the better part of a decade now starkly contracts with a lot of the more uptempo stuff we’ve been getting from The Weeknd, Drake, Bey, etc

Most jokes revolve around “pride month playlist” and being “zesty” so yeah I can see that

A huge reach.
People still making posts like this like Kanye did RAP on that album and like it didn't have bundles lmao.
I think Falling Back is cool but I think there were probably other tracks he could’ve pushed first as a single.
Falling Back isn't a single. It just got a video but it was never serviced to radio or anything.

Oh yeah, I’m meaning rather the first track to push with a video. S*** like Massive would be bumping with one right now.

https://twitter.com/TheMindOfHY/status/1539465758996144128They forget the Jesus rollout and the fact this project was pushed back and anticipated to some degree
Drake just came out with a dance album within moments with no real warning
Or was Jesus really a surprise drop? I don’t think it was, could be wrong
A huge reach.
Not a reach at all. I’ve seen mad viral tweets saying something along the lines of “Drake’s in his pride month era”

Nah, there was like a 2 month buildup and a couple fakeout release dates, then the actual date was announced a few weeks beforehand.
Also, there was the IMAX movie that dropped on the same day as the album

also "gay club music"

Yup exactly also it’s Kanye and Jesus and Americans love Christianity, I see why it sold. Still ass tho

For some those are just jokes. The people who actually hate the album tell you why and it usually isn't that the album is gay.
IDK Simple out now (another good hip house album)

Jokes or not, it’s rooted in homophobia amongst the black male community. If a female artist dropped this album, these same “pride month” jokes wouldn’t be getting made
