I feel the same. She has some excellent songs to her name, no doubt but even more than his hits, what makes Drake's music so special to his fans is how personal it is. We know very intimate details about his life and he's always been autobiographical when it comes to his lyrics.

Her first album to get a lot of critical acclaim was self-titled in 2013. That's when she shift happened she became a critic fave. Since then, everything she drops is seen as the greatest thing ever lol.

I can see why it would be frustrating. Dance and Electronic has a lot of ties to LGBT culture with its origins, so it would be bad to assume that it's too "feminine" or "gay" to listen to it when it's just good music

I think there's 2 factors at play here. 1. It's not a genre for everybody, but because Drake made it it seems like it should be for everybody.
2. Some of these dance kids be pretentious in the comments talking about "Why does this feel sooo ... CHEAP" but if they favorite no name DJ dropped these s***s they be sweating. That's part of what makes it hard to call this project just straight BAD because Drake or no Drake the f***ing Squeeky bed on Currents would have me vibing and moving, and that stands for a lot of these tracks.
