Would y'all be down for more albums like this from Drake that are non-rap and explore a genre/style of music he hasn't necessarily explored before?
Jungle next
album is good not great. i prefer CLB but there is a time and a place for both of them, so it’s tough to say.

I feel like Drake could pull off an indie/alternative album if he really committed himself lol.

would rather the albums be a combination / playlist like more life. i think committing to one sound for an entire album may not be the best thing for him. his fans love when they get a bit of everything

I’m always down for great albums with artists I love.

3. More Life
Tier Two:
4. Thank Me Later
5. Honestly, Nevermind
6. Certified Lover Boy
Tier Three:
7. Dark Lane Demo Tapes
8. Take Care
9. So Far Gone

10. Views (if it wasn't for feel no ways this would be Tier 5)
Tier Five:
11. Scorpion

But that's just the thing. He's always given a mix of genres on projects his entire career. I feel like he might be tired of doing that.

Hoenstly hate that playlist style album now it’s so overdone but I see why he does it.
It’d be nice every once in a while but I’d take a cohesive shorter project that any day.

f*** it. indie album produced by dean blunt

if it'll make people appreciate him as an artist and not just a numbers machine

he might be, but it’s what his fans want and what makes him the most money seemingly in the end of the day. i’m sure drake wasn’t thrilled by the lowish numbers this album did. not good for his brand so to speak.

Like it barely affects the album but imagine a whole project like this but no jimmy cooks tacked on to the end

yea i’m saying this and don’t even really love more life. it’s just whatever to me.

Thanks

it would be cool for sure, but personally idk. would it affect me all that much? i don’t think so. i truly can’t say i know what i want drake to make. i liked clb a lot when most people seemingly didn’t. that album had a variety of sounds, but was rather cohesive outside of Tems and Yebbas song. so idk, it’s hard for me to try and describe what i would want him to make

Ehhhh idk I feel like they had to know they’d get this reaction off rip. We wait for them to catch up. This will also be an album that’ll stay in top 100 for a very long time. Every cafe, bar, club, store will have these songs in rotation for the next 5 years

Absolutely. He hasn't dropped a good rap album in 7 years.
I would like to see a re-release of this with talented house and electronic artists doing official remixes to be honest. Really lean into what this music is.

I think I would just be down for more frequent but concise projects that explore a singular genre. I’m ok if he does rap only again like IYRTITL considering he raps differently now then he did back then. But also based on the radio show and intro, I thought we were getting a 14 track really somber and sad rnb album. Would really love to hear something like that too.

can only wait and see, lot of speculation in what you’re saying. i don’t buy that they didn’t expect this to do big numbers though. they had no reason to expect any different from his past releases. the “house” album excuses are weak imo. what did DLDT do though? in terms of marketing it’s probably most similar to that project. and it didn’t do too well. so maybe they did know
