I even started this convo by saying "When i was 18 like 12 years ago i use to get pissed off when he gave negative reviews".

I'm a huge Gambino fan and use to swear he had a bias vendetta against Gambino. Where as now i think his opinions were fair.

from 2010-2016ish he s***ted on Gambino significantly worse than Drake. Gambino received Fantano's only 0/10 review. When Gambino started dropping better music, he started getting better scores, and stopped being clowned.

Point is. he's just a guy on the internet that s***posts, like anyone else. He doesn't personally know these ppl, and probably doesn't care about them. The entire internet will clown someone like Jack Harlow when they believe he dropped an awful project; and with no filter. If he drops an amazing project next year ppl will forget they even clowned him.

Even if you personally love Drake's music, Drake's career albums haven't been universally praised by everyone in like 6-7 years now. And his last 3 albums have been polarizing at best. He simply just doesnt like the music

I mean let's be real it's what we were all expecting. That's part of why the album is being recieved the way it is.

The initial listen you don't know what to expect because song after the next you're like "Are they all like this fr" but once you circumvent your initial expectations and accept the album for what it is, your next couple listens it grows.

If the argument is that modern reviewers are driven by engagement which impacts the quality and impartiality of their reviews then so be it, that's the s***ty world we're in, the artists are doing the same s*** while making the music

But this whole artform is subjective, that's the point. Drake said it himself in that acceptance speech. The best team doesn't always win. So I don't get why you would argue whether certain reviews are fair or not. You can never prove it, so why not just save the energy?
