Finally someone bold enough to tell the truth
Finally someone bold enough to tell the truth
It's okay if you don't like it
Most are saying they're having the time of their lives
That future the prince set was fire. Need that
😂😂 this is such a stupid critique. People been changing live versions of songs since I don’t know how long ago. I saw one of the comments on this tik tok said they left because of that? Unbelievable.
While I agree to this to a certain extent, I also agree that he changes songs a bit too much from purely a performance perspective and not it just being a "live version"
For example, we all know he has a live version of Laugh Now Cry Later which is stripped down and sonically sounds different
But when he performs live, he always sings or raps off beat, and stretches words in every single song that were never that way when recorded. Like Know Yourself live for example. Listen to him perform it. Every line is off beat and he stretches the end of every line. Again, it's pretty much in every song if you pay attention
He's been doing this for the longest time now and I dislike it too so I get it
I think this was right around when Joe Budden was dissing Drake and Ebro started rumors by saying Drake was saying he would diss Eminem too lol

Fair enough.
I’ve noticed it but that’s honestly what made me like going to his shows because you never really know what to expect. He might even change some of the lyrics to fit the city you’re in, the mood of the night, etc.
I realize now that it just boils down to a personal preference and I was mistaken on my initial take. At first I thought it was just a few folks trying to sound different lmao

Yeah bro you gotta realize the casual fans like the people in those tiktoks aren't stans like us who would appreciate the fact that a live version of Jungle has added strings, or that BNYX added a choir to Over to sound more grand, and made Nice For What sound like a college marching band
They wanna hear the songs how they heard them on the radio or in the car with their friends. Also the stylistic choice of stretching words and being off beat on every song makes it harder for fans to sing along or rap along at shows. So it's fair and I understand and agree to that specific part

I consider myself a Stan, while I’m not crazy bout Drake rapping on BNYX beats I definitely appreciate what he has added to the tour production. At the same time, I share the same disdain for his performance style as the rest of these “casuals” him speedrunning thru songs not allowing them to breathe or catch a vibe and then performing them differently is awful to me.
This isn’t just a casual fan thing, it’s okay to disagree with the artist you Stan

His biggest issue is having too solid a catalog to ever pull a satisfying show from. The only way he'd be able to do that is if he performed for 3-4 hours every night and the only way that'd make sense is if he played stadiums and performed like 3 times a week. That's the only way he'd be able to perform full songs across his discography enough for fans to be satisfied.
The biggest bullshit in them tiktoks is saying he only performed 30 songs for 30 seconds each. Girl that’s a fifteen minute performance. The set is two hours long.
posted my pov of the show last night on the tok if any wanna pop out and watch it got some pretty decent footage
im in the black durag lmao, was t’d up when he gave me the lil head nod and fist bump

Lmao they’re over exaggerating but they’re right when he says he doesnt even rap/sing the full record he plays beside like jungle
Wipe em like a snottyyyy 😩

The off-beat delivery is so infuriating
It’s like I get what he’s going for, but he drags each line way too far behind the instrumental that it just ends up sounding sloppy.
It’s part of the reason why I’ve always thought his live rendition of 24 was super overrated
