    4 mil in damages💀

    For what.

But this nigga drake doing too much. They sent a cease and desist and Future & Oli ignored it. Real weird

Labels give money to artist or use money for album promo. We’re talking millions. If real , let’s say they settle for 1 million. Let’s remember drake got 1 million for gods plan music video alone 😂. If anything they get more publicity out of 1 million.

The album sounds way harder now due to all the controversy

For real. Controversy may not objectively make the music better, but it really contributes to THE MOMENT and can make it subjectively sound harder for some time

In all fairness, I can see why they’re doing it.
Someone less tapped in than the average KTT user probably still thinks the cover was real, and vogue probably wants to protect their brand from the messiness of the beefs surrounding Her Loss.
It’s not a good reason, imho, and they’re only poking a much larger bear than if they just rolled with it, but I see their perspective

Yeah, but in the modern era, label money is basically a glorified loan; they take every cent that they spend on you out of your royalties. S*** is kinda f***ed up tbh

True. I think being this uptight with their brand is arguably worse for them tho

It’s good to see Howard Stern, Who is extremely protective of his brand, enjoying the rollout and seeing the vision

If you dont protect your copyright then it has risk to become public domain by law, its like a if they can do it then they all can do it type thing.

So if it isnt an official deal, then they must show that they do/did something to protect it (more like claim it) even if they lose. Its pretty much mandatory in USA, n part of the reason copyright takedowns fly left n right etc.

Doesnt matter if one person in that big ass company gave a "blessing", its not official, and theres a lot more people within that company.

They must protect their copyright. Literally, its a must. Or else theyre risking a lot with their IP unnecessarily.

    100%.
Vogue is fumbling hard. Now they’re gonna be on the biggest rapper in the world’s s***list, and the like, 5 people who were mad at them for supposedly associating with Drake would have forgot about it in a weeks time if vogue just stayed silent

Didn’t know about this. This seems like a respectable move from that perspective

He just got a $500million deal. Label still covers promotion.

  • Drake the biggest rapper in the world

Included a fake vogue cover for a press run

And no one in his camp thought to make sure it was all good lol?

Interesting. If the label is really spending on him like that, then I’m happy for him for having one of the only good label deals left in the modern era.
This is kinda off topic, but I feel like a distribution deal is the move if you are wealthy enough to finance your own music career, which should be the plan by a couple projects in.
