thegreatdivineWorking on a project till the last minute doesn't mean it's rushed. Drake started working on Views in 2014, dropped 2 projects in 2015 and was still working on Views hours before it was set to drop in 2016.
Drake started working on CLB in late 2019, dropped DLDT in 2020 and was still working on CLB hours before it was set to drop in 2021.
That's just how Drake works. This is the same dude who was working on TML/TC/NWTS hours before they were set to be turned in for mastering and to have physical versions of them made. If he didn't have to do physicals for those albums, he'd probably have worked on them till the last minute as well.
It doesn't mean they're rushed. It just means Drake isn't the kind of artist to make an album and have it turned in months before it's release date. That's simply isn't how he operates. Any true fan would get this by now.
He only makes it known before every album but they're "fans"

If Drake knows that there has been anticipation building for an album like CLB for nearly 3 years, why would he just drop it with a weird emoji cover, no interviews, few singles, no tour? I don' t think Drake is in a position where he NEEDS those things at all but certain fans will view it as displaying a lack of investment on his part, especially with Honestly, Nevermind dropping just a few months later.
I just think that drake is so successful that thinking in album cycles isn’t even useful.. he’s on his own time. That’s not to say the reception to a project isn’t disappointing. For all we know he doesn’t even get the max return on his time from doing anything with music at this point. He might actually get a better return elsewhere, just to your point on maximizing a release..just feels like pissing into the ocean at this point. Recreational artist lol

Not only just from a charts perspective but Wizkid drop is a big conversation in black music worldwide generally.

You just wanted us to know he has new music coming out next week but acting like Wizkid's singles do any sort of damage the week or even the month they drop isn't accurate.
His last single didn't do s*** and I doubt any Wizkid release will make any real noise unless it's his next album so your point is moot on both the commercial aspect and even impact aspect, at least upon release. It usually takes several months for a Wizkid single to catch fire in the US or globally (if it does).
