Drake would never make an album like that because that would be some boring ass s***.
I understand why he wouldnāt wanna do that and itās not what I want from him
But to say it would be boring? I donāt get how a drake fan could say that when that song is so amazing. But I guess some of you guys arenāt as into rap
And itās not like it could be more boring than Scorpion Side B

Drake we need a whole project like Middle of the Ocean
Absolutely but prob not till heās older on some jay s***
And have it be slightly longer than an EP

Isn't on BS an unreleased A$AP instrumental? I can't remember what song, but I'm pretty sure it is.

Butterfly Effect was a Nicki and Quavo song before it went to Travis Scott. S*** happens

Itās not that thinking that song is boring means youāre ānot into rapā.
Itās just that Drake has been doing that exact same formula for his long form rap songs for his entire career, so to continue to hear it from him this deep into his career has become monotonous.
The pen is still sharp, the lyricism is amazing, but the overall execution/presentation of those style of songs from him has been very stale for a while now and could use a spark

Middle of the Ocean is EASILY his best song in that lane imo
Like not even remotely close. This is the first time heās had a song that could go up against something like Lupeās Mural lyrically. Itās one of the best lyrical tracks of all time
I find that to be such a lazy critique. Like what is the formula youāre talking about? Other than them just being⦠long form rap songs? Usually with sampled beats which isnāt unique to him? And with a āstate of my lifeā lyrical approach which really isnāt enough to call it a formula, itās rap songs lol like I donāt get it tbh
Doom had a formula
Like so he shouldnāt make songs where he just raps anymore? Why lol itās a rap song itās kind of an evergreen format
I just started to realize how many of these songs drake is alluding to being on hard d**** with a chick lol
Like I caught it but today I was like damn heās geeking nonstop

1. In what world is Middle of the Ocean one of the best lyrical tracks of all time..? Drake himself has much better rap songs than that lmao
2. The formula is boring and predictable because itās always:
A. sample based boom bap beat
B. around 5 minutes in length
C. pretty straightforward conversational lazy delivery
D. brag bars/life update/shots at random people in the industry
E. one long verse
The lyricism is great, it just starts to get boring when he only packages his best verses in the same boring delivery every time. He never challenges himself on any of these types of songs, itās the exact same formula every single time.
Every other legendary rapper is able to showcase their S-tier pen in a variety of ways; it seems like Drake only knows how to do it with this old and tired formula.
Thatās why an album full of 10-12 songs from him would be boring, because heās not challenging himself as an MC on these type of songs anymore

Which drake song do you feel is more lyrical? Because imo heās never been as lyrically dense as he was here, with the beekeeper entendre probably being his most layered line
Also more rhyme schemes than usual
It really felt like he challenged himself a lot as a rapper and writer on there. Itās easily his best work as a writer imo
I think youāre being lazy as a listener and saying āok boom bap beat, conversational delivery so Iām just gonna assume itās more of the sameā
When in reality this song is a major level up from something like Do Not Disturb from a rapping perspective

Iām not saying itās more of the same, his pen remains elite and continues to get better.
Iām talking about the overall package.
His pen has not stayed the same, but the delivery of showcasing it has. You can have the most elite verse in the world, but if the overall song isnāt captivating then it doesnāt matter.
Thatās why Iām saying he needs to figure out a way to showcase his ever improving lyrical ability in a more intriguing way where heās challenging himself.
Thatās also why 10 of these on one album would be extremely boring and repetitive because it would sound like the exact same song over and over again.
I wasn't talking about a whole album EXACTLY like Middle of The Ocean, that would be boring for sure
I'm saying I wanna see him do a lyrical showcase project with S-Tier production on the same LEVEL as Middle of the Ocean, not necessarily the same style over and over again.
When I say we need a full album of Middle of the Ocean I'm saying we need Drake on that type time not necessarily the same exact sound
Ya'll thinking too literal
Ironically I think a good example of what the structure could be like is Daytona lol
Imagine 7 tracks straight of Drake going off in top form on S-Tier rap beats... s*** would be remembered for centuries
It don't have to be exactly like that tho just giving an example of what it could be. Could be an album, mixtape or whatever he feels like marketing it as. Could be a collab with one producer or it could be another collab album with another heavyweight rapper like Ross or Cole... he could take a page out of Tyler and Dramaās book and have Khaled host it if its a tape. Possibilities are endless.
I know some people ain't into lyrical rap these days and that's cool, they'll just have to sit that one out. We got HNM & Her Loss this year, whose to say we don't get a rap project like what I'm describing and full R&B project both in 2023? I think doing s*** like that will really take his legacy to a whole nother level

My brother. I stopped reading this at āDaytonaā.

This is a fair point

Not really. People love drake for his versatility. His knows his strengths and shows exactly how diverse his pen can be with every single project.
I just saw on IG live earlier an artist signed to A Boogie's label remix Jumbotron S*** Poppin and it was sounding fire. Hopefully he drops the remix. I screen recorded the live, but he ended it to finish recording more bars to finish the remix.
I need the shirt drake wearing at album release party man where merch at
Facts, they gotta stop playing.
Yāall peep Slimed Out Baby yet?
