Do not go to a drake show with your family lol
Lol this would be like my 4th drake concert . They would be cool fr but no bullshit Iām def leaning on going with friends again
Drake stans are the only fan base that spends more time responding to hate than celebrating the music. Even for an album with overwhelmingly positive reception they spend days in shambles about the few critiques as if they are personal attacks
Brah we've been celebrating this whole thread, one page after a review drop isn't that
Has anyone even bothered to look up Anthony Fantano's history? Why is that someone who triggers people with a 5-10 minute opinion? Because he has a lot of followers? Homie just made a YouTube account like anyone else and got s*** shaking, and happened to blow up. If he was favorable towards every Drake project or whoever they'd like him to be favorable to, people who hate him would love him. It's all an opinion.
What do you relate to? As some probably non black music nerd lol
Kendrick good at selling people trauma and making them feel like theyāve cracked some code lol
Critics talking about Kendrick album was a therapy session š¤£š¤£š¤£
I mean Father Time is quite relatable, you know being from a black family.
I think it more so gives you something to think about, thought-provoking music. Albums like Her Loss aren't bad or anything and it's good in the moment but I'd like something that sticks with me for years and I can go back and relate to it depending on where I am in life.
I think you're being slightly immature based on your response lol

It aināt one page itās been a few days but Iām just saying, I donāt see shambles like this when yāall say the Kendrick or cole stuff is mysterious or whatever. Yāall are one sensitive bunch
Drake's whole success is built on being relatable in music even tho he isn't at all
That's what everyone said was the whole shtick. Now it's a different story.

I would have all of your fans
If I didn't go pop and I stayed on some conscious s***
Drake's whole success is built on being relatable in music even tho he isn't at all
Tbh he was though, like Take Care, So Far Gone, etc were all fairly relatable but I feel he's in the position now where he doesn't really have anything substantial to rap about.

buncha know it alls....
I wanna be clear that I didn't say critics should reflect the opposite of public opinion, or to be contrarian/snobbish. I said their job is to express their own thoughts on the subject, and that simply writing to reflect how the culture feels is not really their (entire) purpose. That would be a waste of their and our time, don't you think?
In a perfect world there would be no biases, no pandering, no preconceived notions. In a perfect world there would be a balance struck between examination of the actual music, and the external factors that contribute to it and how it affects the cultural landscape. And maybe there are reviews out there that do just that.
Shiiit let me know when you come across one man
I havenāt seen a rap review that actually examined the music in years
Idk man to me itās simple asf, if Iām reviewing a rap album Iām asking myself: are these flows hard? Are these bars hard? Is this production fire? Is the execution of everything such as recording mixing sequencing etc on point? Does the overall theme and vibe of the project feel special? Is there minimal filler?
Her Loss checks all them boxes. Donāt see how you could give it a negative score UNLESS you worried about the wrong s*** like who Drake is OUTSIDE of his music, his level of maturity as a man, whose butt hurt over his disses, etc. All that s*** is weird asf for a āprofessionalā music pub to be writing about but what do I know
This is just not true lol
I think you just only pay attention when people criticize drake
Critics and listeners do this routinely for nearly every artist
Again yāall are too sensitive with this s***
Find me some other rap reviews from this year where the reviewer is critiquing the artist as a person cause I didn't read any
Besides some Tory reviews lol
The Drake Stans s*** is so bogus btw. This is KTT2, every major fanbase just jokes and b****es all day. Lol
Drake stans are the only fan base that spends more time responding to hate than celebrating the music. Even for an album with overwhelmingly positive reception they spend days in shambles about the few critiques as if they are personal attacks
Thread been going crazy since it dropped enjoying the music
Way to be disingenuous

Donda reviews for sure where judging Kanye and not the music
But that ain't this year

Another controversy laden album, that's why I took Tory out
imma lightyears from being drake fan and can't stand his persona but this album slaps

Facts. Why we gon be getting stick talk mob ties drake

Father Time is your example loool. Drake got a bunch of songs and lyrics deep diving on family. Way more than Kendrick who just really opened up this album. We know drake whole family and all their issues and trauma through his music š
Yāall just like to feel superior listening to music and itās so pretentious. Most of us can enjoy balance in music. Enjoy different pockets for what they are. Most of these super conscious artists are just selling that because they know the market . They donāt even sound profound in any way
Drake gave us a grandiose, braggy hip hop album which also had sprinklings of recent social issues (abortion rights, womenās rights), label politics, friendship, love, lust etc etc
Drake stans are the only fan base that spends more time responding to hate than celebrating the music. Even for an album with overwhelmingly positive reception they spend days in shambles about the few critiques as if they are personal attacks
This post is the definition of confirmation bias. The fact that this has likes shows how much yāall niggas just wanna confirm the feelings yāall already have about ādrake fansā. Most people are just enjoying the album and you know thatās true
Melon might pan this album now because of the Meg controversy
Melon was gonna pan anyway bc his existence is a light 1
Melon might pan this album now because of the Meg controversy
the way he defends woman in the industry rn comes out so forced tbh
trying to be on the right side only because of the platform he has made
