As someone who's favorite Drake project is IYRTITL, I don't view it as a stain at all and think he's one of the best writers in hip-hop regardless

i should clarify that i don't think drake literally copy/pasted but instead took old demos off yachty and made slight changes to them
backoutsideboyz sounds like 80:20 yachty to drake
jumbotron s*** poppin is like 60:40 yachty to drakei should also clarify that i don't care about drake's writing integrity at all. song sounds good? that's good enough for me. and both of these songs are good. praise is due for yachty & drake. i'm personally annoyed with this because of people denying any yachty involvement and underrepresenting his current/recent pen game. i think drake superfans are quick to jump and deny this because of the PTSD they have after that meek mill summer but sharing bars/demos is so common that it's not even worth a diss anymore

Drake fans are quick to over correct because it seems like drake is the only one held to some unreasonable standard. Think that’s where the disconnect is.

i totally get the defensiveness because of all the flak drake gets when it comes to writing, i'm coming at this from a standpoint of giving yachty his due credit. not just on this album but on his own recent work in general because he's quietly dropping some of his best work while at the same time being lumped in with those viral "worst fall-off" tweets which makes me angry and also defensive
poland (and these tracks now) hopefully changed some peoples' minds
