I pray for the day you all learn to stop trying to hog artists down with your own personal expectations regarding their art and become more open-minded to whatever they offer at any given time and understanding that if you try to get into the music and it simply isn't connecting with you, there's absolutely nothing wrong with moving on from it without somehow blaming the artist for doing something wrong.

And I'm saying your critique is dumb. This is an album with 21 Savage. People expected a kind of Drake and he delivered on that. So did 21 Savage. That's why it works. No one wanted woke or grown man bars on here and that's why almost all the songs are ignorant.

WATTBA worked for the same reason.

Choosing to ignore that and to criticize Drake because he didn't give you the version of him you wanted on this PARTICULAR album, is what is dumb imo.

Same people screaming they want '''grown man music'' from Drake will be the same ones who won't play that music for more than a week after it drops because they'll find it boring. He's just 36. He can keep making ignorant music into his 40s if he wants, so long as he remains good at it. Y'all are just gonna have to deal with that, I'm sorry.

    Totally agree

Ngl I would love for Drake to hop into a grown man Hov-esq bag one of these days but he’s still relatively young and enjoying life. Youth last a lot longer than it used to. 36 in 2022 ain’t the same as it was in 2002, especially when you rich.

People expected Drake to start wearing button downs every day as soon as he hit his thirties and became a father. S*** would be mad forced and corny. As long as he continues to stay true to himself the music will mature naturally.

Love the headspace he is in on this

There isn't particular topics I want him to talk about, as it could literally be about anything in life that resonates with him OR it could just be music that emits different types of emotions in the listener. I dont feel Drakes music genereally does that anymore apart from provide us with songs to party to, which is cool, but again gets boring when the content is superficial.

Also I think Drakes technical skills as a rapper have improved immensely and these past few years are the best he has ever been, however the content (what he is talking about) and the consistency of good content is as low as its been for him.

Ill give an example of Drakes first verse on the album - and this is consistent throughout the majority of the album. The verse below is completely superficial and surface level, however because his technical skill as a rapper is so good it sounds good.
'Sticks and stones, chrome on chrome
That's just what a nigga on
Internet clones, got them kissing through the phone
Pussies cliquin' up so they don't feel alone, ayy
No nigga seeing me, I'm Young Money CMB
I used to roll with CMG, the house is not a BNB
The bad b****es waiting on a nigga like I'm PND
I'm steady pushing P, you niggas pushing PTSD
I told her ass to kiss me in the club, f*** a TMZ'

Hov dropped 444 at the age of 47. Why are people forcing Drake to make music that isn't reflective of his life? He'll never do that. He's said as much several times.

Doesnt have to be woke or grown man bars and I never said that. Simply more depth than the verse I quoted. I absolutely would expect some ignorant music and I actually enjoy a dose of ignorant music. However its perfectly ok to say 'this is repetitive now'.

Its also ok to say a whole album of ignorant music (really i would say multiple albums) is too much ignorant music for me. What I am saying is pretty straight forward. Drake released an album, I enjoyed the flows and some of the beats but I didnt enjoy the content

Not sure what you are basing your last paragraph on.

To be clear, this grown man rap is not what I am talking about. What I am saying has nothing to do with age

  • Nov 5, 2022

Don’t know if Twitter is bugging but drake keeps going from #1 on trending to not being in the 29 trends at all then back to #1 again lol. It’s happened like 3 times now. Safe to say people will be talking about the boy for a while

Some of you are so fake and dumb with your terrible takes.

Rappers are allowed to be ignorant in songs. It doesn't mean they have no depth to them. When Drake wants to talk about real s***, he does but he's still a rapper whose job is to primarily entertain people. You had no issues with that 10 years ago so why do you have an issue with it now?

If he's not giving you the content you want, go listen to who is.

The problem with many of you is that it's never enough to accept a song/album for what it is intended to do. It always has to be what YOU want and if it isn't that, then it's bad or inferior.

Damn girl you goin off this morning, all facts
