After Hours Dolby Atmos was crazy good, almost switched from Spotify to Apple Music for that

just started a 6 month free apple music trial
atmos is actually awful, not sure why apple are forcing this so much, some songs sound like theyre fading in and out
head tracking too, utterly pointless for music consumption.
movies and tv it makes a lot of sense, but not needed at all with music
I think the format could be really cool and innovative if albums are recorded intentionally with that format in mind. The problem is all of these albums available in Dolby Atmos are albums that were recorded for stereo listening and just converted to Dolby after the fact, which is why it sounds awkward more often than not.
One really good use of it is the album Cinema by The Marías
