Yes wealth is exaggerated but stop the cap Doja Cat has more money than we probably will ever see
I'm just telling you the reality of the music industry man, s*** is bleaker than you would think.
you really don't know that. lots of artists are broke regardless of album success. labels put you in debt. its all image. I remember Method Man saying when the first Wu-Tang music videos dropped and got successful he was still eating rice with ketchup on it.
bro this isnt the 1990s if she hasnt made enough to retire comfortably at this point then she’s the dumbest person on the face of the planet

No it's not lol, i know s*** ain't sweet. But guess what, we ''normal'' people also face debt, stress, depression and most of the times we have to work jobs that are much less exciting too. Not saying she's not allowed to feel bad, but at least she got to do what she initially loved doing for her living. At least she managed to do something that doesn't potentially incriminate her instead of getting by on the streets. At least she built a platform where she can have a positive influence on others on a large scale
"In a recent Instagram Live, the Grammy-nominated rapper shared her disappointment in the music industry and said that she has not had fun making music in “maybe five years.” She says that she feels like there is too much unnecessary additions she has to do stating, “I’m doing all this s*** that I don’t f***in’ wanna do. I don’t want to take f***in’ pictures.”
Doja later admits that she does think photoshoots and “capturing a concept, capturing a visual idea” is fun but doubles down on her disdain for it, “Do I want to do that s*** because I have to? No! No, I don’t! But I feel pressured to do s*** like that. I don’t want to do that. I want to be home. I wanna play f***in’ – I wanna make music. I wanna play f***in’ video games.”
label got her slaving for these award shows
Dam, she just like me.. she just wanna play video games all day.

but what if she just wants to play f***in video games all day

I hate being able to be creative for a living and make money off art
Such a horrible job wish i was a d*** dealer or worked a job flipping burgers
I have 0 time to play the new trash ass GTA remaster boohoo
It’s hard to feel bad for her when she isn’t saying that it’s the music industry specifically but rather that she doesn’t want to work at all and wants to be a 4chan NEET all day. I think she gets way too much s*** in general otherwise but celebrities being overly anti-work is something that will always rub me the wrong way
I was referring to the last part where she just says she wants to play video games, it came off that way to me, could just be badly phrased though

the part you think is exciting can be a source of a lot of stress and be detrimental to your physical and mental health. and what she's telling you with that speech is that people only see like 20% of what her career actually is, and the rest is stuff that she didn't come up really loving to do. she just does if to fulfill obligations. not saying youre wrong but just try to see her point of view. i remember Halsey told a story once that she had a miscarriage live on stage and had to quickly change clothes and keep performing. the life of a musician gives very little consistency or stability even when you're on top
She was having more fun when she was making songs with titles like "Dindu Nuffin"
Forgot about that one

most ‘successful’ are in debt to their labels
stay independent if you have a buzz
she signed as a teenager if I'm remembering correctly. she had No buzz, just connections and good music. the deal probably seemed like a godsend at the time. looking back it seems like a bad situation but she probably never would've made it without the resources of her label just because it let her make music and get deep in the industry without needing a regular job. she needed to work for years to get to this point.
