I’ve already explained to you a thousand times why the numeric figure is lower. It has nothing to do with the song, everything to do with the state of the industry. If Drake dropped a new single right now it would not do Rich Flex numbers, because the industry is down.

Rich Flex was simply more impactful stop with the mental gymnastics lol. November 2022 wasn’t some amazing booming time for the music industry lmao streams are actually up from then

Okay, and how did you come to that conclusion?

Because I was in red lobster when it dropped and saw this little white kid saying “out like a light” a couple hundred times until I just got up and left

And Blinding Lights got boosted by Spotify and TikTok promo but it’s still in OPs list. What’s your point?

2023 is when the low sales and low streams started, and it’s continued until now

    “Got boosted by Spotify”

It got boosted by the place where people listen to music?

Yeah Jimmy Cooks damn near mega status too

Jimmy Cooks didn’t have any quotable, nobody knows the melody and I never saw anyone irl rapping it word for word so sadly it’s not a mega hit

    “Got boosted by Spotify”

It got boosted by the place where people listen to music?

The story of why “Blinding Lights” succeeded is a combination of deft songwriting and smart business planning. The Weeknd’s fame and canny use of ‘80s influences fueled its rise. But the artist also worked with hit producer Max Martin and met with Spotify and TikTok representatives early on about promoting it.

In a rarity for a single by a global superstar, it ended up being a slow burn: It ballooned on Spotify in January and February, then got an extra lift in March when it inspired a popular TikTok dance challenge.

2023 is when the low sales and low streams started, and it’s continued until now

Source? Pretty sure overall streams have still been increasing. Are you talking about some kind of percentage stat relating to hip hop and the whole pie? streams by actual numbers are still increasing I’m pretty sure it’s bigger than ever

As for “low sales” the fact you think low sales started in 2023 is suspect. You might not know s***

Drake went on Kick and barely got 100k viewers.

Carti went on Kick and had 500k viewers before he even showed face.

    Pls never quote me again
