Im not talking about delivery tips, those i believe should be given to the delivery drivers, but im talking about take out where you use your own time and gas to go pick up your food from a restaurant. I find more order online restaurant websites pushing for take out tips. Whats the ktt consensus about tipping a worker to hand you your bagged up food
If I pay cash I'll leave the coins in the jar, but otherwise no. I worked service all my life and never expected any take out orders to leave a tip, since there's no service being done, they're just buying their food
There’s this shrimp place that has signs that says “please tip management doesn’t cover loss tips due to COVID” or some s*** along those lines.
Every order there is $45+ So tips are expected to be high.
S***s jokes cause they assume we should cover costs for s*** management

Damn yea, I guess with corona it's a lil different. Gotta feel a lil bad for people working the past year
Yea I do since COVID hit. I don't do tip based on % though
Max a nigga is getting for delivery is $5, $10 if the weather is complete s***.
Edit: Just read OP, If I'm picking up my own food, then no I ain't tipping.

See, this restaurant i was ordering take out from made it pretty difficult on their website to forego the tipping part before checking out s*** is damn near forced upon any customer

I always avoid online orders. I don’t wanna be forced to tip to avoid having them do s*** to my food

Thats a fear of mine too, but these asshats need to think, why tf would we tip if we gotta pick up our food
I like ordering online/calling bc i haye waiting for food so i guess its just a risk i gotta run with😭
Doesnt really make sense to tip if I'm going in the restaurant picking up my food and leaving
but if im sitting down and eating or getting delivery definitely
I don’t tip for anything where no service provided. If it’s takeout and I ask for some recommendations or they make an alteration with no charge, then I’ll slide a few bucks.
Tipping culture getting out of hand and it’s only letting management off the hook more
