yes I think democracy is a good system as long as the rights of the minority are protected there should be more democrat votes by the people on issues
ehhhh direct democracy doesn't really work practically, theres so many votes on little things congress does and it isnt feasible to have a national election every time for those

obviously not on every issue, if people voted on every issue that would just be rule by mob.. like I said you gotta also protect minority rights
just major issues
we already do props in states for those kinds of things like d*** legalizion why not do war, d*** policy and other issues on the federal level
maybe on a national scale I dont think small elections like school boards etc are really being affected by donations like that
I don’t have any information on this, but I bet we’d all be surprised at the amount of corruption in smaller elections
regardless of my opinion on democracy itself, there’s no denying that it does not exist in the United States of America
No it does sorry you delude yourself
Democracy is the best way to build inclusive institutions which are necessary for growth and development. I will defend democracy and popular suffrage with my life
That doesnt mean democracy should be forced on people hwoever
i thought u were pro-gun?
none of those are happening because we have a representative democracy and a constitutional republic.
we dont do a popular vofe for laws
exactly lol
we don’t do a popular vote for laws
we don’t even do a popular vote for federal elections
in the US, the people don’t vote on anything actually important, the land votes
the wealthy who own that land decide how that land votes
that’s not a democracy lol

the US government doesn’t agree with any of your points
see:
coup detats organized by the CIA in South America, the Vietnam War, the Cold War, etc.

The land votes
Wow okay
Organizing, informing, actually voting
Thats how Biden won
biden won because he was vice president and wasn’t trump, and even then barely won
that was literally his entire campaign platform alongside some skeleton progressive measures which hasn’t even been pursued in an earnest effort

Oh in that case then sure but America itself is still a democracy albeit flawed
Ah yes those who support a system that historically only led to fascism is calling another system fascist and fascist enabling

What system has historically led to fascism. Please do tell
just can't believe the take of "socialism leads to fascism" when we actually have history in front of ur face saying otherwise
I mean yea I do are you stupid
It's literally the best system when it comes to stability (without domination) and representation
exactly lol

sounds like you want direct democracy.
democracy can’t exist under capitalism
this just isnt true. you just dont know what democracy is.
yes i love how 51% of people are more important than the other 49% !
I would rather see that than 49% > 51%
But I think you should have to have 2/3rd voted to pass legislation.
it’s an oligarchy/aristocracy
a candidate can’t run a campaign & get enough votes to win without spending billions of dollars
it’s not a democracy
Stupid post considering Bloomberg got molly whopped and spent 500 million on his presidential campaign
Money is clearly not the sole denoting factor on who wins U.S. Elections and if you had any sense of context a***ysis you would realize that.
Yes, of course. You're either a fascist or tankie if you don't. Or some crazy ass sortitionist.
But, democracy in the U.S. is heavily, heavily, heavily flawed.
