Depending on how the next 10 years go (especially if there's an even more significant tech convergence that's beyond just AI implementation online and in the arts), it's possible though I do feel it'll be 50/50 honestly. Some will want to detach while others will be perfectly fine with how things are (or buy into it even more). It's probably going to take another mass traumatic event akin to the pandemic for any kind of exhaustion to take place on a wider scale tbh
I can agree with that. It’s just too engrained
no unfortunately. i wish i could stop using it.
What’s stopping you? Just delete it
hahah yea it's that easy right
For a specific app? Yeah, I was pretty addicted and deleted it
Overall tech addiction is hard as s*** ofc, im not saying you can just delete your iPhone
TikTok has f***ed a lot of peoples brain up with its short clip format that gives you that dopamine rush, it’s addictive.
And it’s not just TikTok now it’s TikTok and ig reels . Millions of people watch them daily .
You have to think, people are actively trying to do dumb /stupid or embarrassing s*** so they can go viral on these platforms, they are slaves imo
i feel grateful i got away honestly, i haven't used that s*** since prolly the pandemic. my feed just became nothing but brainrotted slop at one point idek why. i cant imagine still using it and i feel for folks stuck in tnat loop
Finally, you suck
Where did you two go wrong?
TikTok is super dope. Great media platform. Can’t lie, I love it. It will only be replaced once AR/VR truly takes off which probably won’t be for at least a decade
nope they just need to sell the US business or appoint an american CEO like shiv roy
didnt u watch succession
i know guys who claim not to use it, "hate" it even, who send me IG reels nonstop
Eventually they'll realise tiktok algo is better (like most already have) and it'll keep growing
ppl thought the UMG/Sony issue or Trump would be the end, yet it's only gotten stronger since
I acknowledge TikTok’s algorithm is top tier, but I will still never use it. No other reason then I don’t use any social media that much anymore, and I don’t want to add another one to my list lol
No, it's here to stay, you have the music industry depend on it. Then You have students depend it. And then you have those who just want regular bite sized entertainment for 5 minutes that don't want feel bothered to watch long form content from Netflix, YouTube, etc
They are too good at it all while their competitions keeps fumbling. TikTok isn't just where they are cause of their algorithm and the people who constantly doomscrolls their s***. They are also goated at getting people to produce content through blueprints like music trend, filter, capcut and release them on their app. Imo that's the most important key in this whole platform scene
Also TikTok Shop is a top e-commerce in many countries. FB, IG wanted that and they failed
Do you think people will ever get tired of their social media/tech consumption? Gen z grew up on it and are dependent but I’m curious if exhaustion will ever kick in on a decent scale
did people stop watching tv?
did people stop watching tv?
That’s way less invasive bro
That’s way less invasive bro
it's still a source of entertainment and also news, and you kinda just have to watch whatever is on. if tv (and even radio) still has a place in the world today, i don't see people giving up algorithm picked playlists, tik tok vids, and articles with up to the minute information about something they googled yesterday
I deleted tiktok ig, yt shorts etc a long time ago, way too addictive. Still be watching LinkedIn shorts tho

LinkedIn shorts be fire lowkey
not using tiktok has made me actively feel out of the loop on “meme culture” and i don’t mind it tbh
DM me and i'll elt you know all the memes you're missing out on
nah
People act like Tik Tok and these social media platforms are the worst thing ever
but they're not that bad
