No because men and women alike don’t universally regard her music that highly
Beyoncé appeals mostly to women
Prince, Stevie, MJ etc appealed across the spectrum of all ages and both sexes
tbf its a lot harder for female artists to appeal to male fans on a broad level than vice versa
nigga up there said Usher
i love usher but if we’re comparing both of their albums that dropped this year….

Men love Aaliyah, Sade Erykah, Lauryn Brandy etc
It’s all about the content.
Beyoncés music leans so feminist heavy it feels like it’s meant for men to not want to listen to it
Like it was engineered to turn men off to it

maybe some exceptions but surely its safe to say those artists' male fans aren't anywhere near the level of the legions of female fans of artists like MJ and Prince. im not saying its impossible just that the big male (pop) artist tend to have an easier time overall appealing to women
i think you have a point with the content tho
put any of those guys you listed in an empty room with a casio piano and they will put on an amazing show for you. idk if beyonce can do that
man you niggas just be waffling so hard on here man lol
because to me, putting everything she’s done into consideration, imo she is. her run from 4 to renaissance is an all time great run that rivals the runs of stevie and prince in their primes. and with her iconic performances that to me only mj can rival, her hits etc. i believe bey has cemented herself to be up there with those three goats
prince and stevie don’t belong in this conversation at all because they are in an echelon entirely above like idek why those are the artists you chose lmfao like you’re grouping great musicians with pop stars, big difference. shows a fundamental misunderstanding of the stakes tbh. mj though? sure why not. not talking sales/commercial prowess here either, i’m talking about musicianship and artistry
yes. they’re talents that we won’t get again for years to come, that goes for Beyoncé. when she gives up music there will be huge shoes to fill.

well if we’re talking about artistry even prince and stevie weren’t putting out great albums like renaissance and cowboy carter 25+ years into their career
just throwing that out there
Idk if this is valid but R&B is possibly one of the most prolific genres. It's been sampled by many and many of it's artists have blended into Pop. I feel like we take this genre for granted these days
So many powerhouse artists have their orgins in here. Including the ones that are mentioned in this thread
op look up the writing credits on the albums of the artists you named vs any of beyonce's albums
No… Beyonce’s album catalog simply isn’t good enough. It’s not even close to Michael/Prince/Stevie level.
Performance and eras wise she absolutely deserves to be a part of the conversation.

lol Prince and Stevie had such insanely mind boggling and untouchable peak runs to where it doesn’t matter.
No, her albums don’t measure up to those artists. Those artists were around for the peak of music and created timeless classics.
R. Kelly might have a better discography than Bey if we’re being honest.
She’s a all time great performer though.
Thread title still so crazy
Why is the former boy band member up there with Prince and Stevie..
I hate that this was even asked. She's nowhere close to the talent of the others. She's just a machine..
