Like I think people severely overestimate the amount of people that genuinely don’t like his music. From what I see on this site a lot of people just want more out of him, for him to return to his more grounded nature or just want more mature raps which I think are all fair

    True.

Even 100 GB's did fine for what was essentially a loosies tape. Didn't every song chart?

I think we have to wait until Drake does a full fledged rollout for a solo album to see where he's really at.

Drake showed on Scary Hours 3 and Family Matters/Push Ups that he still has some rawness in him and he can drop bangers easily with the right direction and producers.

People are just getting caught up in the moment. I remember niggas thought "Drake was over" after Scorpion, CLB, and even HNVM too.

his career isn’t over just off the strength of how people rallying behind him with threads and tweets like this

but i’d love to hear those people’s depiction of what did happen for us to be at this current place having any variation of this convo lol

As of December 3rd, 2024, it was apparently a coordinated effort by UMG & Spotify to devalue and defame Drake’s name because he was gaining too much leverage based on how popular he was. So much so, that the song dissing him was also the biggest song on the other biggest music platform Apple Music, even though they weren’t involved in the conspiracy.

Oh and also that’s why his last few albums have been mediocre, because he was intentionally giving them weak material to hurt their pockets by creating no hit songs for them, in an attempt to give them no other choice but to give more money and a stake in the company in the future, because by turning himself into a depreciating asset that’s obviously what they would do.

Who knows what the next narrative will be in 2-3 months when the next piece of info comes out, but I’m sure the Drake stans will believe whatever it is!

No one with a functioning brain legitimately believes the "elimination" of drake was successful

Once you leave the echo chamber that is the internet and step outside you see hes just as successfully as he was before the beef

tbh i would not be surprised if a full r&b collab album sells less than kendrick album

i don't think it will but at the same time it won't surprise me

real decider will be his next solo project. and by that time kendrick will have dropped another one too

he should grow a pair and conventionally drop a single so there is no ambiguity about his current commercial status.

personally i think saying 100gigs only flopped because the songs were IG exclusive for a week is a massive cope, but it does provide a convenient excuse so let's remove any potential excuse and see how things pan out.

    agree with you weekend stan

drake stans are the ones who want him to do proper rollout and release the most--something he hasn't done since covid and laugh now cry later being the single for clb og

There will absolutely be another excuse. This time it will be: UMG is intentionally faking the numbers and sabotaging his release because they want him to fail

    CLB BMO

Most streamed artist for 11 consecutive months

An album from 2023 is still the best selling rap album this year

Just did a presale for a tour on the other side of the world where more than 250k people queued up for just one show alone

All this after dozens of other A/B list rappers and artists(some of which he formally collaborated with) took the side of the other guy in the biggest rap beef in years to join in slandering his character

Put your biases aside and think objectively. The elimination was not successful lol
