talking bout nokia being a hit lol that s*** was a taylor swift hit you never hear that bullshit outside but somehow #2 in the charts
this reminds me of how hard niggas tried to make nokia a hit after the beef and it just didn’t work
Nah....Nokia is definitely a hit.
And I know it's a hit because I actually heard it playing a lot in public spaces unlike Slime U Out and FPS which went number 1 but I barely heard those tracks getting played.
Is it on the level of past smash hits from Drake? No. But acting like Nokia isn't a hit is an insane denial of reality lol.
No
I like more life but these kind of diary tracks are so boring. Same flow just telling us s*** we don’t care about

shut the f*** up you stupid b****
Not thinking Nokia was a hit is insanity I really hate yall sometimes 😭😭
Mentally ill fr
NOKIA is definitely a hit, it just fell off relatively quickly and never really amassed the same level of impact that Drake hits usually do
If hits had tier levels from S to D, then for Drake it was like a B-tier hit
Songs like these just take me back to where I was when I heard it, truly a classic

not sure why niggas cant say this instead of being delusional
Speak your truth man let’s hear it I’m interested by this
not much really i was just reminisching about that 09-15 era. i just miss when drake made music primarily for black women and for the love of the music itself is all as opposed to the charts or some misplaced need to dominate "the game" as it were. and s*** like club paradise still makes me tear up and s***. i really think back then he represented a new paradigm for rap, but a lot of that was owed to 40 for sure. their whole team was sonic architecting a new sound while still respectfully indebted to their quiet storm 90s r&b electronic and ambient influences. heat of the moment prod is crazy
there are still glimmers of that, but drake is too caught up in... all that bullshit he's caught up in now. it's the dichotomy between the kind of dude who would've appreciated or sampled or featured esperanza spalding as opposed to dissing her in the pettiest, s***tiest way possible on fatd. it just sucks, i really, really f***ed with him as a jit. i even like a lot of songs off views even though it was the first miss for me. post 16 he just clearly became insecure as f*** and his music reflected it. less experimental, less interesting, less drake, idk. that's it really, i mean i could go on but idk how much is nostalgia, but i don't think so. thanks for asking though
i don't even think drake getting massively dunked on by kendrick will be enough to humble him enough for him to make music like that again. from the heart and soul again. i usually find at least one or two songs to like on his recent stuff (not on the party collab project forgot what it's even called) but that's about it
i just remembered this song was about do not disturb lol, which i like among some other tracks on more life but yeah, it was his second major miss album for me.

I appreciate the insight man and definitely respect your opinion you made some valid points. I have some scattered thoughts that loosely connect with how feel but basically to abbreviate it I think a lot of that of which he lost in his art is partly due to the system that tried to tear him down at every stop. Not trying to make him a victim but I do think a lot of what he was doing was met with opposition or distain at every stop and I’m sure that gets exhausting after awhile so sometimes it may be easier to return to the mean so to speak. More stream of conciseness than solid opinion but maybe I’ll sit on it and get my thoughts out properly one day lol
