"Diddy's team argued prostitution only applies to someone who pays someone else for s***-- not someone who just sits back and watches like they say Diddy did during the infamous "freak-offs."
Prosecutors fired back by arguing Diddy also reimbursed his exes -- like Jane -- who set up the sexual encounters ... essentially aiding in the act.
The judge adjourned the hearing without delivering a decision on the matter, but said he'd decide soon.
Diddy's sentencing is set for October 3 ... and, if it moves forward, we're sure a whole lot of his family will be there to show their loved and support for the star."

The Brief
Diddy’s lawyers are urging the judge to sentence him to no more than 14 months, arguing he has already suffered enough after more than a year in one of the nation’s toughest jails.
Court filings describe harrowing conditions behind bars, including threats with a shiv, constant suicide watch, and food that at times contained maggots.
Prosecutors are expected to push for a much longer sentence, insisting Diddy’s history of violence and attempts to minimize his conduct make him a danger to the public.
"Mr. Combs has not breathed fresh air in nearly 13 months, or felt sunlight on his skin, often walking with a limp due to a painful knee injury that requires surgery," they wrote. They also claimed that his meals sometimes contain maggots.
He was arrested a year ago in September, so if granted the 14 months & given time served then he will be home for holidays.

Combs' lawyers argue his convictions were a misuse of the Mann Act - a federal law that was passed to combat human trafficking and sexual exploitation of women.
Combs' lawyers have also argued that he was unjustly convicted under the Mann Act and applying the 1910 law to Combs' case is "unprecedented". They said prosecutors on the case "have lost all perspective" by advocating for an enhanced sentence that is "wildly out of proportion".
During Thursday's hearing, Combs' defence attorney Alexandra Shapiro portrayed him as a voyeur who enjoyed producing and watching amateur p***ography.
The judge asked the defence lawyer multiple times what that has to do with the Mann Act charges of transporting people prostitution.
They said that Combs had "no commercial motive".
If the court declines to grant an acquittal, his attorneys argued that a new trial is required due to "severe spillover prejudice from reams of inflammatory evidence".
WOW
Defense asked for 14 months
Prosecutor asked for 11 years
Think the judge is going to meet in the middle? Ive read recently that people with similar cases in the past have gotten off with no jail time.
