the quality of the album is subjective, but that was down to desiigner imo. the beats he had and what Mike laid on top of them sounded solid to me.
maybe people liked that hit but cos they saw him as a future clone unless he kept the quality of hits up, there wasn't much else to keep people caring
Desiigner is a bad rapper but they could've done a way better job with him they dropped the ball
If he was signed to another label he would've been handled way better and not neglected

those are good points. Obviously desiigner is not the most competent artist by himself but I still feel like he was neglected along with almost everyone else at GOOD
Frankly im surprised they didnt capitalise on him more. Totally a wasted opportunity imo
in 2016 he had a perfect run, 3 hit songs in a row. it's really after those few months it starts falling apart
but getting 4 songs with the biggest artist on his label, a video with him, getting his main producer and getting put out as soon as he got signed is really what most artists want. that's so rare
i'm sure there's some bad s*** going on in private, but publicly that's the biggest co sign ye could have given him. he lowkey did more for him than he did for big sean at times, ik budden said recently they had to put ye on the marvin song really quick cos he hadn't bothered to put any effort into sean before that

People always so quick to throw co-signers and label owners under the bus when the artist fails. But rarely ever admit that the artist just didn’t pan out.
