think this is cool off first listen. definitely a lot more 'subdued' and downbeat than his last couple of releases. honestly think it really comes through as dude being massively disillusioned with the world and everything for a lot of the first 2/3rds a part of me does miss the zuu and before style high octane back to front stuff but his rapping is very tight on this throughout and the production is v nice. you also do get a few big time bangers so it doesn't stay one note.

wish dude would shut up about potentially being cancelled though

this is very very very good

denzel flow on his verse on "Ain't No Way"

it's been a while since I felt like this after listening to an album enjoying it

  • When the Clipsters and Zelsters fan meet up happening at the next pitchfork concert?

in fairness while cancel culture has led to a lot of legitimate creeps and POS types getting called out there's also been some folks caught up in that who didn't really do anything to warrant it (Aziz for example and there's a few others)...I do agree generally though and I saw someone bring up Deniro Farrar's last album as a good example of when that conspiracy s*** backfires and ruins the whole listening experience lol

This is a very good album but none of the songs really stand out aside from Walkin and The Last. Does that make sense?

a few tracks especially in the middle of the album were too short IMO and would have benefited from another verse or two I think

Glad to see the overall reception be pretty positive. That says something about the album if even KTT2 admits its good.

I love the album. Might be my favorite Denzel album if it remains in rotation. I notice some baby keem influence kinda? Anyone hear it too? X Wing and Sanjuro cadence/flow

    I agree

  • I never thought I'd say this: but I want a t pain and Denzel full collab lp. Because who could've guessed the chemistry was that strong musically?

lowkey feel like TPAB influence is creeping up on this generation.
so many jazzy hiphop albums being made

  • You can tell Denzel isn't controlled. He got Saul Williams, Rico Nasty, Robert Glasper, Karriem Riggins, T-Pain on one album as features.

THIS is the kinda s*** hip hop industry needs more of. This kind of musical summit.

Not the same 5 names that are being w****d to you constantly for features. We don't need to turn into Universal Republic or Atlantic records.

Lotta growth on this album. Probably Denzel's most mature album.

Definitely. A natural progression from TA1300 & Imperial.

While it’s totally fine to dislike someone’s music for whatever subjective reason, the hate boner part of KTT2 gets for Denzel is really absurd to me.

And all those same people who were s***ting on him yesterday are today either admitting the album is good or very quiet.
