Dudes who say they didn’t like 1 hoping that the 2nd gets delayed ?
It’s almost like there is a pre conceived notion of wanting it to be bad
Nah I just think Chalamet really can't carry a movie
Beyond that I think the universe and property itself are cool

The scene in the tent where he overwhelmed my the spice visions are the only time he was clearly out of his depth. Have faith he's grown into the role a bit more for this.
Still no Kyle McLaughlin

I am not in anyway trolling when I say his facial reactions or conveyance of emotion just wasn't hitting for me. This was the first movie I saw him in though. Something about a lot of the new generation doesn't connect for me. Between him Holland. I am going to give Part 1 another chance but have figured I might as well wait til part 2 is close

audio visual aesthetic was and is never my issue
something about the emotion and story doesnt connect. In dunes case a lot of the deleted scenes could have significantly helped the movie for me

Really? Did you watch Timothy Chalamet in The King? Watch that and come back to me

Again this is the only thing I have seen him in. I am open to watching others. I am simply saying Dune wasn't the best showcase of his talent
so I will work backwards in the discog

Sounds good. Dune Part 2 is where it seems like he will give a lot more
Dune 1 was my favourite film In years... I just felt fully absorbed into that world, like how those nerds who watched star wars for the first time in 70s must have felt...

I feel you, sadly I missed out on watching the first one in theaters so I hope they have a rerelease before the second one comes out.

This is so interesting to me. I wasn't even paying attention to him, so much of the movie felt 1st person or omniscient point of view to me, as if the viewer is a character, maybe I should read the book. Yes Paul Atreides exists, but I was way more invested in seeing all the other characters through his eyes doing things for him and what is happening because of him.

That’s fair I care about main characters be they protagonist , anti heroes or antagonist . When they don’t cross a certain threshold I can’t fully connect to movie or tv show . This applies to live action or anime . All the supporting characters can be dope in this case many of them are but something will still feel missing of main character can’t carry weight

Hmm, I thought he did a pretty good job with facial expressions. Particularly during his scene with Reverend Mother Gaius Helen Mohaim and the Gom Jabbar.

As for his awakening scene, yea that could’ve had a little more
umph but, every rewatch I’ve grown to like it more and more. Also keep in mind Paul is still a child. He’s 15 at this point in the story.

i think it’s spot on for someone who’s character is meant to be raised stoic like that lmaoo you can tell there’s internal conflict at the same time
