I haven't read it but his 1975 book is considered one of the best in the industry and his process is well known;

"The use of models, as opposed to actors, suggests that Bresson’s ideal scenario involves a blank canvas of a person, one devoid of ego, opinion and even genuine emotion. The filmmaker can manipulate this blank canvas wholly in order to establish his complete vision. The emphasis on “working models, taken from life” displays a demand for realism on the behalf of Bresson.
