its also not like Denis is the prime director for a big money franchise, he's never grossed a billion. So I don't think its a situation where Amazon is like, if he wants to do it we HAVE to get him. I would have much prefer Nolan-gotta assume he said no?

also and maybe this is just me, but Prisoners, enemy, sicario, arrival are WAY better than his recent big IP movies.

It's you. Sicario is not great. The other two are really good but not BR or Dune tier.

Will probably give it another watch but I couldn't get invested in the characters, I thought the film just set them up as vehicles for suffering, and so I didn't feel the impact of anything

strongly suggest a rewatch but it’s also a thing where I feel like you have to be in the mood, otherwise it will definitely lean misery p*** at the close
