Using the “well, thankfully it’s not the Republicans!!” to explain away the failures and shortcomings of the Democrats is not as convincing a sales pitch as most of you guys seem to think

If Dems want anything other than voter apathy then they need to give people a reason to vote FOR them not AGAINST the GOP, especially now that they hold 2 branches of government. The whole “i’m not as bad as THAT guy” defense with no substance to provide your constituents is a great way to just repeat Clinton in 2016.

You better believe next time around that the GOP will be capitalizing on the stagnancy of the Democrats which will be incredibly easy to emphasize if they don’t make some noticeable and memorable changes

It’s not even worth having the conversation about which party is “worse”. It’s pointless, it actually does not matter. To most people, they’re football teams and they’re gonna support one or the other regardless of anything you say to them.

It’s all about whipping up voter enthusiasm and Republican voters are going to be vigorous this next time around and without the threat of Trump the Dem voters are gonna sit at home. Unless Joe and Congress does something significant, I can’t blame people for not voting or for voting the other way.

People will make the point that even if the Dems provide them with nothing that voting against the GOP is... harm reduction for racial/sexual minorities or whatever. Newsflash: most Americans don’t give a s***! they’ve got more pressing s*** to worry about, like putting food on the table or not getting evicted, than whether or not transgenders are allowed to serve in the military or if gays can be denied a cake.

Improve material conditions for Americans to overwhelmingly win elections, then we can go from there on all the seemingly performative woke s***.

I swear Biden and the dems are trying to push a 1.9 trillion stimulus package through congress that aims at doing that. Meanwhile the GOP tried to counter offer a stimulus package 1/3 the size.
