Imagine if V had ended with an unwinnable boss battle against Solid Snake voiced by Hayter
Playing through Snatcher and Policenauts prior to this and Snatcher's surprisingly good
It shouldn't surprise me at this point, but it's crazy how consistently ahead of his time Kojima is
Playing through this again with the DC. This game was a big surprise when it was released, I bought it thinking it would suck but was curious about Kojima’s madness and I loved the meditative gameplay. But I still don’t care about the story at all, it’s thousands mails and voicemails, lol.

I’ve always wanted to play Snatcher.

Like a time skip of sorts using this as the last mission

Giving the first one a shot for the first time. Completely blind, I still somehow know nothing about this game.

Look, I just played it for the second time and I can’t tell you what happens in this game.

Kind of what I figured. That was the reason I was sleeping but I can’t deny it looks beautiful.

It’s just a vibes game. Story is bollocks tbh

It is not a vibes game. Hideo Kojima is specifically known for storytelling in games, like he's the pioneer of the long story cutscenes
The funny thing is I thought Kojima overexplained stuff at the end, but I guess everyone is different and some people need the writers to connect the dots for them
There is some mystery in this game, so maybe it's confusing initially, but he very clearly explains everything in the final reveal. I don't see how the ending is that much more complex than MGS3 snake eater

“Story is bollocks” was misplaced. I don’t think the story is confusing or bad, it’s just delivered in an uninteresting way aside from some cool moments. A lot of the dialogue is really flat and I can’t bring myself to care about any of the characters. I hope he tackles this in the sequel

It's the whole fake deepness and constant metaphors of it all that gets overcooked, but that's basically Kojima in a nutshell

Exactly and sometimes it got to the point of parody. Definitely felt like Kojima’s “Tenet” lol

That’s a fair point actually. Most of the story really comes together in just a few cutscenes, other than that you’re usually just reading messages or receiving transmissions while porting goods lol
Yeah the sequel seems like it’s got more story and interesting sequences and less of the porting, but we’ll see

Yeah my only complaint is i couldn't emotionally connect with the story at all
Need gameplay man.
Agreed, but the two trailers we got are pretty gameplay heavy

F*** no, I want surprises, now that games are $70, you’re losing a lot of money the more of the game that is spoiled. The 25 min of footage we have is already way more than enough.
KojiPro has invited outlets out to their offices to play the game. Reports will come out May 8th.
