I don’t understand what to do at the mule camps, before I can get to knocking all of them out, the first one I knocked out wakes up and the process never ends. I can never knock all of them out to give me enough time to do anything but escape
Use Bola Gun and then kick them in the head to knock them out. Haven't had issues so far but you might be further than me.
Where did I say this? I literally pointed out that half the games he listed are apart of big franchises.
And if you look at what I posted earlier I said that Americans aren’t close minded with indie games, if anything they just like more streamlined mechanics in games.
And I gave examples, there’s a reason why Monster Hunter took so long to get big as it did over here in the US
and so what if they are part of big franchises? what is your point here?
monster hunter always had success in the west. the reason it didn't get huge is because it was always a handheld game. you think a psp game is going to do well in the west?
Even with them already being established genres the only FPS games in the last 2 years to be rated higher than Death Stranding is Apex Legends lol. Like as well as shooters may sell, they haven't really been that highly acclaimed lately and Journey offers a similar experience to Death Stranding and was very well received as an example of niche game
And...? Kojima's point was that Americans have been more resistant to the game because of the lack of accessible gameplay mechanics. DS overall is pretty positively received by critics, but a specific handful of review sites have been very harsh on the game and Kojima's weighing his honest thoughts about it.
FPS games might not be rated higher overall but IGN gives any FPS game that comes through a 9. When I first heard DS got a 6.8 from IGN and had an 84 Metacritic, I thought the same basic idea as what he's saying. I was honestly surprised it got as a good of a MC score as it did (but now that I'm playing it, I get why people love it).

Them being apart of bigger franchises means they’ve been established for years.
The dude I replied to brought up games like Mario & Zelda, those games been popular for decades.
And no, Monster Hunter started out on the PS2 and got an average reception when it first came out.

The point is that Kojima's addressing that westerners are more resistant to games that are not part of big franchises lmao

bro stop monster hunter wasmt big because of how complicated it was
capcom had to simplify that game till it was a vtech kiddy zoom for americans to like it
Folks was not rushing to buy games like God Hand when it came out for the PS2.
Even Daemon X Machina got a mixed reception.
Dumbass Americans arguing more about his comments than the actual game prove the theme of the story

and the comparison to japan? where are the new IPs doing well in japan?
the first monster hunter got a poor reception and sales in japan too. it did not reach the big success in japan until the psp fdays.
it is absolutely laughable that japan consumers are more accepting of new IPs. that is absolutely NOT the case. and kojima, the guy who worked on the same IP for decades knows this.

I don't think that people are resistant because of the mechanics, at the end of the day the game is just a bunch of fetch quests and that that's why people aren't interested or are turned off.
And I think we all have established that IGN is trash years ago lol, I mean personally I wouldn't say the game is an 8 or higher, but compared to what some reviewers were saying it's definitely not that bad. Which I can understand why some would really not enjoy the game, and I think that has much more to do with the game itself than outside influences from other games.

And again, in my original post I said that we like "more streamlined mechanics" compared to the other markets.
Bringing up Daemon X Machina again, a new IP, that s*** charted at #4 in Japan while it didn't even chart in America apparently.
And also the third Monster Hunter was a pretty big hit in japan lol

the west and japan have different tastes, but the argument that the west like more streamlined mechanics, and generic games is nonsense. japan is absolutely filled with musou games and s***ty jrpgs. look at the best selling games in japan. games like dragon quest and pokemon. neither have changed at all in 20+ years. dragon quest has not evolved at all in almost 40 years. it is shocking. it took zelda until 2017 to change the formula. new IPs do much better in the west than in japan. fact.
the f*** is daemon x machina? it didn't sell in japan either. you are acting like it was some massive success in japan. it wasn't.
show me the massive new IPs out of japan over the past 10 years.

Ohhhh I wasn’t kicking them in the head so they just kept getting up

Nah how about you do me one better and show me the top selling American games over the past 10 years. I bet the lists are very different and would prove what I'm talking about.
Dont think I've had any mules just wake up on their own. I've seen their buddies go and wake them up. But for me at least so long as I've binded them with the strand or knocked them out im good. And then just try and get the rest quick.
Thanks for this I totally forgot to do this s***

6 of the top 10 are Call of Duty games lol

here are the best selling games in the US last year:

Marvel's Spider-Man

there are 0 new IPs on both lists. the japan list has 3 of the same IP on the list.
can you kill BTS when the whales come out?
Yeah I did it in chapter 2
length of episode 3 was longer than most other single player games
literally feels like a new game every episode
theres literally a conflict, climax and resolution for every ep
Why does my controller keep crying? really irritating.
look after your kid, deadbeat
I will say that I do think America is close-minded about certain games but we're willing to give a lot of things a chance here.
(Think of games like Journey.)
I think if anything America's more close-minded with a game's "mechanics". And I wouldn't say they like "easy mechanics" but something more digestible I guess.
Anything more abstract about a game mechanic's is hard to sell over here.
Look at the way fighting games are treated in other countries vs over here, look at how long it took Monster Hunter to take off over here, or how certain games like GodHand and what not are cult classics and not mainstream...
they all have that in common, they're pretty abstract
