That's the beginning of Ep 3. More interesting things are introduced. It's a slowburn but nothing for the rest of the game comes close to those first 6-8 hours in Ep 2.

excited to finally start this s*** probably gonna make my pro melt but f*** it, we ride

loving this so far. never been head over heels for kojima. mad respect for him (growing up reading gaming magazines, dude was basically kubrick and coverage always made his games look unreal) but I was born too late to be of age and get the big deal behind the metal gear games. owned mgs2 as a kid but was too young to really get into it. Don’t think I made it past the first hour. only played mgs4 in full and more of the same vibe. liked it but wasn’t on the right wavelength to get all the hype.

All the DS mechanics and story so far have me hooked. Went to a college football game earlier and was trying to get back home asap. if it keeps up, goty contender with re2 for me and I never thought I’d say that. Obviously ppl are gonna take issue with the game but somehow I’m hooked playing this way more than I was with red dead 2.

Story is way over the top but a lot of it is definitely tongue in cheek / self aware. I think kojima has something of a troll reputation like kanye? as silly and messy as it can be it’s still really engaging and actually has something to say about people and the world today.

Is it me or is this game kinda one dimensional? You’re pretty much just delivering s*** trying to maintain your balance. Maybe I’m not far enough into the game but so far, doesn’t seem like there’s much to do besides that.
The game is also kinda complicated w the items and menus, not really sure what the use of everything is.
