the way I see it, and I'm just a guy on the interwebs not a lawyer, ppl can correct me if i'm wrong or misinforming, but I feel Blair Berk and Marilyn Bednarski aren't really aiming to get him off, I think they're just working to angle his case so he can avoid a much more difficult, drawn out trial if they decide that the death penalty is on the table.

so they have to poke holes not really in did he do it, did he not, but the special circumstances like lying in wait / murder for financial gain, save his career, etc, because those will be key in angling for capital punishment.

to me, best case scenario for his defense is they are able to somehow convince the DA to not go for the max penalty and they can count it as a victory that their client isn't getting executed by the state..

but either way, he's most likely gonna die in there

It’s a dude who used to come to my gym with a GF and his homies. they all looked about 40 and she looked fresh out of high school, they were all Hispanic

It's the Macho culture + the fact that age of consent in hispanic countries (Not just Mexico) are very low. So blend those 2 things in together and you get weird ass situations where theres a 18 year gap difference and the mom was 15 for some reason.

I think you’ll find age gap exceptions in all sorts of cultures. I find it especially common in the global south cultures.

I think the win for them will be doing what you said so they get a long sentencing but with a possibility for parole date in the future, and even then, those requests will be denied and he’ll die in prison if not get released in his 90s

I would say that was a thing back in the 70's-90's in the country of Mexico, I lived there.
It was a thing, yes. I've heard of elementary/middle school teachers in Mexico that were in their 30's, get married to their 14 year old students, and people were cool with that.

Idk about now as I haven't lived there in decades.

In the USA with American Latinos, that isn't respected. Some people from my hood where I used to live in AZ, the Mexican gangs don't tolerate that and some can never come back because they got the greenlight on them for dabbling in that type of stuff.

She went into labor hospital and the babies father in all normal and happily announced he was the father to the staff

Her family showed the cops her baby shower to try and show that both families approved and blessed their relationship to get him released (all Hispanic)
