LetHIMSortEmOutSo basically in alot of Latin countries there has always been a culture of pressuring the younger women to marry by a certain age, and its always young, like really young. The age of consent in alot of these latin countries is always pretty damn sketchy too.
In turn there is less scrutiny for Older men being single, but strong forms of Machismo (extreme manliness) are present, and the logic is "I MUST overpower the woman, so i will date them much younger than I am, because I will have way more experience, strength, intellect, property/money/power, sexual prowess."
There still is patriarchy in the US, but theres even more in these countries, and women just kind of get conditioned to be that way since very young ages. as @Leftside pointed out, "quinceañera" (girl turning 15 years old) is seen as transition from childhood to adulthood.

They change from flats, to high heels, get gowns, a special dance with her FATHER, with other friends and family.
Folks are constantly drunk during all these things and I always felt a sense of uneasiness when i was at one of these (forced out by my mother and father for their friends), even when i was a lil kid i knew something was off
