I've been getting more into Durk but idk where to really start I thought that was his first commericial album right?

the direction was awful in comparison to where durk started. I partially blame def jam because they tried to make him some commercial artist instead of developing his drill sound but he also bought into this style himself. I dont think anyone back then enjoyed the album overall. A few songs here or there but the consensus was durk fell off back then. That's why he gave us 300 days 300 nights to get back the drill fans he lost which he didn't really regain again until 2017. 2015-2016 was a really bad era for Durk. He even addresses it in this song.

My favorite project by durk is signed to the streets 1. One of my favorite projects this decade. That was durk at his best in terms of drill sound + melodies.

Wow, so I guess that's the dark era for durk. I had no idea tbh, I thought that album was actually well enjoyed by people. But I guess they werent big durk fans.

I'm gonna check some of these other projects he has, I know durk works with one of my favorite producers called C-sick (you ever heard of him?) and I know he's had some dope tracks with him.

I'm gonna check that tape out you recommended. I'm really getting into the older drill scene at the moment and I cant believe I never really paid attention to it..
